Regress and De-Stress for Teens
School already stressing you out? Teens in grades 7-12 can come relax in the Lane Community Room of the Burlingame library on Friday, September 8 from 4pm-5:30pm and feel like a kid again with some boba and kid snacks while playing games, watching cartoons, and making crafts! Burlingame Public Library Homework Center
Beginning Tuesday, September 5th through Wednesday, December 6th, 2023 we welcome Kindergarteners through 8th graders to be paired with a Teen Mentor (with a 3.5+ GPA) for free homework help with reading, writing, science, and math. The Homework Center runs each Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 4pm-5:30pm in the Tech Lab on the Lower Level of the Burlingame Main Library.
Homework Center will take a break on Monday, October 9th and the week of November 20-22
A parent or guardian will need to fill out a Parent Permission form at their student's first session.
Freedom to Read Poetry Workshops for Teens
Calling all teens in Grades 7-12! Celebrate your freedom to read banned and challenged books with other teens and our Burlingame-Hillsborough Youth Poet Laureate, Lauren Lin! At each of the five Thursday workshops we will discuss a banned or challenged piece of writing, then write our own poetry with Lauren in response. No experience needed! No Registration Required. Snacks will be provided. On Saturday, October 7 at 2pm we will perform our own pieces at a Banned Books Week reception in the Teen Room of the library.
