Veterans Day Chat
This event was started three years ago at Crocker. One of our service learning focuses is to help Veterans in our area. This is a Service Learning Event in which students get to meet and chat with a Veteran. This event has been so impactful for our students and our staff looks forward to this event each year. Veterans are important to the Crocker community and we take this time to honor those who have served our country. We continue to honor our Veterans throughout the year on both our 7th grade and 8th grade field trips, culminating in welcoming Veterans in Washington DC via an Honor Flight. If you know a Veteran that would be interested in attending this event, please RSVP by November 2nd to Ms. Slater at bslater@hcsdk8.org with the Veterans name.
Important Information:
When: November 6th from 8:00-9:30 am at Crocker Middle School: 2600 Ralston Ave, Hillsborough CA 94010
What: The event includes one 25 minute presentation to a class of about 25 students each. Veterans are asked to talk about their experience (school appropriate of course) in the military. Discuss what Veterans day means to you. Answer any questions students may have.
Each Veteran will have a student leader that will introduce them to their classes and walk them around our campus. Each Veteran will have a parking spot reserved for them with their name on the parking spot.
