1st Period Reminder: Your Language Matters

Dear Crocker Students,

It has come to the Crocker Staff's attention that some students have been using inappropriate and offensive language at school. Offensive language can hurt others, make people feel unwelcome, and create a negative environment for everyone.

The words we choose matter—they can bring us together or push us apart. Sometimes, we don't realize that the language we hear at home, in music, on TV, or online may be offensive to others. Swearing or using hurtful words doesn't make someone look cool or smart—it just makes it harder to build respect and positive relationships.

Using inappropriate and offensive language goes against our school policies as stated in the Crocker Handbook. If a student uses this kind of negative language, consequences may result.

Please be careful with your words and make sure to use respectful, inclusive language. Your words have power—use them to encourage, support, and bring people together. When you make good choices with your language, you set a positive example for your friends and classmates.

Thank you for helping to make Crocker a school where everyone feels respected and valued.
