Buzz Reminder: Your Words Matter

Good morning, Crocker,

It has come to our attention that some students have been using inappropriate and offensive language at school. Offensive language can hurt others, make people feel unwelcome, and create a negative environment for everyone.

The words we choose matter; they can bring us together or push us apart. Sometimes, we don't realize that the language we hear at home, in music, on TV, or online may be offensive to others. Swearing or using hurtful or vulgar words doesn't make someone look cool or smart—it just makes it harder to build respect and positive relationships.

Please be mindful of your words and use respectful, inclusive language. When you make good choices with your language, you set a positive example for your friends and classmates. If you are heard using inappropriate language, you will be referred to a staff member or administrator.

Let's work together to create a school environment where everyone feels respected and valued.

Thank you, Vikings,

Lisa Ayer
