Hey Vikings,
Next week we start our annual canned food drive. This year, however, it will not be a canned food drive. The reason being is the Samaritan House doesn’t need any! They get so much canned food they are at capacity. What they do need is baby products and breakfast foods, so that is exactly what we are going to bring in. The Wee- Care is a program run through the Samaritan House and they are at a severe shortage of the products mentioned above.
Our Wee- Care drive will consist of 8 items to bring in:
Baby Products
Diapers
Wipes
Formula (if you don’t know what that is please ask your parents! Shout out to my leadership class J)
Baby Food
Breakfast Foods
Cereal
Oatmeal
Grits ( What are grits?! Google image it!)
Granola Bars
These are the ONLY things we will be collecting. Please DO NOT bring in anything in your pantry. It is actually more work for the Samaritan House if they have to sort through things they do not have the ability to store or keep. The point of this drive is to collect items for people who really need them, and don’t have the means to get them. Let’s work together to help out as many families as we can!
You can start bringing in things on Monday. We will use our first period classes to collect, as it will be easier for students to drop off when they first get to school. Teachers, we will go over the counting system tomorrow J It will be easy, I promise.
Thanks!!
