Cell Phones Before School

Students,

I wanted to thank you for staying off of your cell phones before school. Since we implemented this new rule, I've only had to ask a handful of students to put their phones away.

Now you may be asking, why? Why do we have such a school rule? Studies show that there is a direct correlation between screen-time on phones and anxiety. Spending too much time on your phone takes you away from your primary focus at school--to learn. Further, by watching your screen-time, it decreases the chance for you post something or text something you may regret later. Not to mention, by having your phones away, it gives you a great opportunity to talk and interact with your friends which decreases stress and makes you more connected.

Again thank you and keep up the great work!
