The following applies equally to students of any gender:
Clothing must allow students a full range of motion — sitting, bending, reaching, and running — without requiring frequent readjustment or exposing undergarments or private parts.
Clothing with disruptive or unhealthy logos or words, including offensive language, pictures, or references to alcohol or other drugs, is prohibited.
Avoid clothing with political messages/slogans that may provoke conflict among peers.
For health and safety reasons, shoes must be worn at all times.
Hats & hoods may be worn as part of the costume, but masks are not allowed.
ALL costume preparations are to be completed at home. (No dressing or applying of make-up or colored hairspray once students arrive at school).
No real or fake weapons (nunchucks/sickles/swords/bats/knives/guns/tools, etc.) are allowed on campus. If brought to school, they will be confiscated.
No bikes, skateboards, scooters, toy vehicles, etc. allowed, even if part of the costume.
Students wearing inappropriate costumes will be asked to change and must comply immediately by changing into their PE clothes. Students or parents who have questions about the acceptability of their costumes should check with Mrs. Ayer before wearing the costumes to school.
Lastly, do not bring a lot of candy to school. If it is seen by staff, it will be confiscated. As always, throw away your trash and wrappers.
