IMPORTANT: TAKING OTHERS' BELONGINGS

Hello, Vikings,

  1. If you think a classmate is joking or playing around by taking something of yours, tell your classmate kindly but firmly not to take it and return it right away.

  2. You can tell a trusted adult on campus. It can be better to avoid an argument by getting an adult involved. If you have any doubts, it's okay to go to a teacher or another trusted adult to make sure the problem gets solved fairly.

  3. If someone has a reputation for using other people's stuff without asking, avoid them! Remember, when someone takes something that doesn't belong to them without permission, it's called stealing. (CA Ed Code 48900e)

  4. Keep track of your things. If you don't want someone taking or using your stuff at school, you'd better keep it in a safe place, like your locker. Be responsible, and don't leave your belongings unattended. Also, do not bring items of value to school.
