Crocker Music!

Take a moment to celebrate a few of our students in the Crocker Music program!

This weekend, several students will be representing Crocker at the California Music Educators Association Bay Section Conference. Daniel Oh (7th grade, trumpet) will be playing in the conference's Honor Band, and Maddy Cline (8th grade, voice), Giada Leung (7th grade, voice), and Alina Vartanian (7th grade, voice) will be singing in the Conference's Honor Choir. They will be spending a full day rehearsing on Friday at SJSU with students from around the bay area under the baton of a veteran music educator from the bay area which will culminate in a performance Saturday afternoon.

This year, several students put together audition recordings for the California All-State Honor Bands and Choirs. This is an extremely competitive application– and a very difficult audition to prepare– with thousands of students applying each year. I'm excited to share that Andy Leonard (8th grade, tenor saxophone) and Daniel Kishi (8th grade, trombone) were accepted this year. They will spend several days in Sacramento at the California State Music Educators Conference (CASMEC) in January rehearsing with top band students from across the state, under the batons of nationally recognized guest conductors, and will culminate in a performance at the end of that weekend.

If you see them around, please give them a hearty congratulations!
